Spring
Welcome Back, Y5F!
Happy New Year, Y5F! We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas break and are feeling refreshed and ready for an exciting Spring Term ahead.
This term is packed with fantastic learning opportunities and activities. In Geography, we’ll be diving into the fascinating history of the Thames Sewerage System, and we’re thrilled to announce that Northumbria Water will be visiting us to deliver an engaging talk about modern sewerage systems.
In History, we’ll be travelling back in time to explore the world of the Ancient Egyptians. To make history come alive, we’ll also be heading out on an exciting trip to the theatre to watch Horrible Histories – an experience we’re sure everyone will love!
Our RE lessons will focus on Christianity, where we’ll be exploring key beliefs and practices. In Computing, we’ll be sharpening our digital skills by learning all about spreadsheets, and in PSHE, we’ll be thinking about the future with lessons on job prospects and career aspirations.
In Science, our topic will be Earth and Space, and our class novel this term is 'Cosmic' by Frank Cottrell-Boyce, which ties in perfectly with our scientific exploration of the universe.
PE will continue to take place on Thursdays, so please remember to come to school wearing your PE kit on those days.
It’s going to be an action-packed term, and we can’t wait to get started. Let’s make it a brilliant one, Y5F!
